Had a fantastic day with Vicky North baking for Christmas. I have never made an enriched dough before and was very happy with the festive wreath. The biscuits may not last till Christmas, but the chocolate ganash will make a very good Christmas pud alternative....

At the weekend I planted iris, small alium and snowdrops. There are still 3 bags of daffodils to plant when the last of the terrace beds is cleared and some tulips. This will bring the total bulbs planted to over a thousand. I am so looking forward to the spring...

Walked through the old quarry at the weekend and was delighted to see these beautiful orchids. As yet no idea what they are so will either get busy with Google or take the photo to the National Botanic Garden.
