We were delighted to welcome Simon and his family who successfully bid for a holiday at Pen Y Garn Cottage in the Akzo Nobel Auction of Promises.  We donated this holiday to support my son Max who works for Akzo Nobel and was chosen to be part of a team going to Nepal to help build and set up a secondary school.  Max raised over £2,000 himself through Building a Future for Asia and each team member raised about the same.  The auction of promises raised more than their target so they will be able to do more than was in their the original plan.  However the cost of building materials has gone up since their has been such a demand after the earthquakes of last year.  It is wonderful that the project can go forward.

The school is Shree Shakti School AidCamp at Shivanagar VDC, Radhapur, Chitwan, Nepal.  The group are leaving next Friday the 4th March and we hope to be able to share some photos of how they all got on later in March.
